Our funeral home has had the honor of serving Lemont area families in many ways. We are pleased you have turned to our family as a resource for everything from advance funeral planning to at-need arrangements. We can even help you take the first steps toward healing in the grieving process.
We are proud of our family's long tradition of funeral service, beginning with our founder, Sam Markiewicz, who in 1890, opened his funeral home and furniture store on Main Street. His son, Vic Sr. moved the firm to our present location in 1948, operating the business until his retirement in 1975. Sam's grandson, Vic, then purchased the business in 1975 and made major expansions and renovations in 1983 and 1992. In 1999, Matt, Sam's great grandson, joined our firm as a funeral director and licensed pre-need counselor.
The management of Markiewicz Funeral Home, Vic, Matt, and Vic Sr.'s wife Sally (a licensed funeral director still active in the daily business operations), along with associates George Barry, Paul Lapinski, and Jay Tapella, work hard to continue our firm's 110-year commitment to serve our friends and neighbors in their time of need.
Markiewicz Funeral Home offers complete advance planning, burial and cremation options, striving to personalize our service to the wishes and needs of each and every family's requirements. We realize it is uncomfortable to think about some of the more difficult issues we deal with here at the funeral home, but we invite you to consider the services we offer.
We encourage you to contact us should you have any questions about the services that we have offered to our families for more than a century. We may be reached directly at (630) 257-6363 or through our convenient online information request form. Thank you for visiting.
