Sustainable Springfield, Inc. hosted an urban sprawl seminar on June 29, 2010, to discuss issues related to sustainable development, including stormwater management, redevelopment of the city core, and conservation design. The panel included: Dr. Deanna Glosser, President/CEO, Environmental Planning Solutions, Inc.; Norm Simms, Executive Director of the Springfield Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission; Paul OShea FAIA, Planning and Design Coordinator for the City of Springfield; Gail Simpson, Springfield Ward 2 Alderman
Dr. Deanna Glosser, EPSI President, has continued work on community and regional food planning with the American Planning Association. This has included speaking to 300 planners in Duluth, Minnesota at the Minnesota American Planning Associations annual conference. Dr. Glosser was a keynote luncheon speaker, invited by Blue Cross-Blue Shields Center for Prevention. The presentation was entitled
Local Food Systems & Planning: A Path Forward Food Planning Transitions.
Dr. Glosser has also published several articles, including:
APAs Food Planning Policy Guide in Action, published in the Summer 08 issue of Private Practice Perspectives, the American Planning Associations Private Practice Division newsletter.
