The IRS issued Notice 2010-69 which provides interim relief to employers from the mandatory reporting of the cost of employer-sponsored group health plan coverage on employees' Form W-2s beginning with the 2011 tax year. On Friday, September 3, 2010, the IRS issued Notice 2010-59 and Revenue Ruling 2010-23 which provided initial guidance with respect to the new rule included in the Affordable Care Act that requires a doctor's prescription for the reimbursement of over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and medicines from Health FSA accounts and other tax-advantaged health care accounts.
