Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc., located in Springfield, Illinois is a full service environmental laboratory established in 1993. With state of the art instrumentation, Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc. specializes in the analysis of drinking water, groundwater, waste water, soils, sludges, oils and special waste testing. Clients include: environmental consulting firms, engineering firms, industrial companies, landfills, municipalities, utilities and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

In order to serve our clients' analytical needs, Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc. uses the latest generation of industry standard GC and GC/MS instrumentation. In addition, Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc. operates an ICP/MS for metal analysis. This instrument allows for lower detection limits and is not sensitive to matrix interferences.
Additionally, Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc. operates an ion trap GC/MS that allows lower detection levels for semi-volatiles analysis. This technology is useful to clients involved with risk assessment projects.
Finally, Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc. operates a liquid chromatography mass spectrometer (LC/MS) for herbicides and carbamates (EPA Method 8321). This method significantly lowers the cost of analysis, a savings which is passed on to our clients when bidding on projects requiring this analysis.
All of the analyses and QA/QC performed by Prairie Analytical Systems, Inc. is supported by an Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This system represents the latest generation of laboratory information system.
