Over the years Shannon Cole has built a strong reputation as an expert in the pet care industry. She specializes in areas of pet sitting that include pets with behavioral problems, medical needs, and senior pets. Recognizing the “Special Needs” of these pets, Shannon uses techniques, tools, intuition, patience and compassion to deliver professional loving care. Providing care in the pet owner’s home, allows for pets to remain in their own environment and maintain their daily routine. Resulting in a stress free environment and experience for pets while their owners are away.
Cole worked at the North Shore Veterinary Clinic in Skokie, IL. In addition to her hands on experience at the clinic, she also completed Veterinary Assistant classes through the American Animal Hospital Association, and Cedar Valley College. Along with her studies she worked part time at the Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center in Northbrook, IL. To further her education in the world of pet care for exotics she worked in the specialty department at Petsmart for two years. She is also certified in Pet CPR & First Aid.
As an additional service she also assist owners with medicating pets. She will assist in pilling, injections, and subcutaneous fluids. Cole also has a lot of knowledge, and hands on experience in treatment of Chronic Renal Failure and Diabetes in pets.

In 2012 Cole teamed up with fellow Pet Sitter Sally Kazanis of Mustang Sally Horse & Pet Sitting. They became affiliates keeping it as 2 separate businesses but filling in & backing each other up when the other became busy.
She has been a featured guest as a pet care expert several times on internet radio shows including Peaceful Planet Pets Radio , a pet ministry show hosted by Pastor Bonnie Poirier. She has been interviewed about operating a successful pet care business by Angies’s List magazine and author Georganne Fiumara, in the the book “How to Start a Home-based Business to Become a Work-At-Home Mom.”
In January 2012 Shannon’s Pet-Sitting was awarded the prestigious 2011 Angie’s List Super Services Award, an honor bestowed annually on approximately 5 percent of all the businesses rated on the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews on local service and health providers. The presentation of the award to Shannon’s Pet-Sitting received publication in numerous newspapers such as the Tribune and Herald.
February 2012 & 2013 the Better Business Bureau awarded Shannon’s Pet Sitting with the Complaint Free Award for 2011 & 2012 recognizing superior performance in the area of ethical business practices and encouraging a continued commitment to total customer satisfaction.
Cole enjoys sharing her knowledge and adventures as a pet sitter through mentoring new pet sitters as well as through her blog The Twilight Bark .
