As a Realtor I would stage my listings, using furniture and accessories taken directly from my home.  My husband never knew what he would sit on, as often I would use his favorite chair. I discovered that staged homes sold faster and for more money than a non-staged home.

2008 was a horrible time for real estate. Homeowners had a difficult time selling their property.  Many developers and homebuilders went out of business. I was introduced to a developer that sold one unit out of twenty-four units in two years.  He was months away from foreclosure. Out of desperation he asked for our help. We knew staging would give his units a competitive advantage. Our family suffered financially during this time as well.  We did not have the capital to purchase what we needed to stage his units. I couldn’t take all the furniture from our home; we needed something to sleep on! Not having available capital, we used a Home Depot credit card to buy furniture and accessories.  Did you know Home Depot owns a furniture store? Two weeks after staging we sold a unit, then another, and another. Staging helped this developer avoid bankruptcy and the Community Bank that issued his loan, the largest loan the bank ever issued, from defaulting!

From this humble beginning, out of necessity, Phoenix Rising Home Staging and Interior Design was born.  Today we are the largest staging company in Illinois. We have over 40 employees and proudly offer them full benefits.  Our clients have peace of mind as we invest over $175,000 to be fully insured. Many of our competitors do not carry insurance and rely on contract movers.  This will matter if someone gets hurt on your property! We have 60,000 square feet of warehouse space housing over $4.5 million in inventory and installing 70 to 100 homes every month.
