The scam is, the plumber pretends to rod out the sewer and then tells the homeowner that the sewer is broken and that it needs to be repaired which is now going to cost thousands. Winterizing your home: It is important to have your pipes insulated before the weather turns south for the season. If you have any exposed pipes that are in unheated areas, you should at least insulate them with foan insulation. You could buy this at your local hardware store. The best way to insulate the water pipes in your home is to wrap them with electrical heat tape first, and then use the foam insulation.
