My name is Jihan (Gigi) and it is my pleasure to welcome you to The Faux Touch website.

Faux Painting or Faux Finishing are terms used to describe a wide range of unique and decorative painting techniques. Faux finishing has been used as a decorative art form for over 5,000 years. Once found only in palaces and homes of the very rich, it is now used in traditional homes and businesses throughout the world.

Faux painting creates the illusion of texture on plain walls and surfaces using beautiful, rich colors and endless choices of patterns. We, at The Faux Touch, are dedicated to creating decorative, superior finishes using ancient, traditional, and modern methods.
I have perfected over 60 finishes and a few of my specialties include old world finishes, Tuscan plaster technique, antique leather, and striping tone-on-tone finishes. I also specialize in glaze work, which involves using a translucent mixture of paint and glaze applied with a brush, roller, rag, or sponge. Although it creates a textured look, glaze work is always smooth to the touch. Tuscan plaster work is done with tinted plasters or washed over with earth pigments and is most often applied with a trowel or spatula. This faux finish will result in either a flat to the touch or textured feel.
