Middle School Science Students Dissect Sea Stars as part of our Life Sciences curriculum. The Middle School Science curriculum includes the study of the scientific method, earth science, and physical science. Seventh and Eighth graders study environmental science, health and wellness, and humanities.

Elgin Academy’s ACT average scores in four areas this year were 27.6 for English, 25.1 for math, 26.3 for reading and 24.6 for science—all significantly above benchmark indicators and well-above state averages. The average 2010 graduate earned $20,000 in academic scholarship per year from highly selective universities. The total academic scholarship offered to the class of 2010 totaled more than $2.1 million, this total does not include merit-based scholarships and financial aid.
