Give your child a gift that can never be taken away! Reading music and playing an instrument is not for the few, talented and privileged. It is a skill acquired through learning and practice. Those that learn to read music and play an instrument often excel in other areas of life as well. This is because participation in music (especially playing an instrument) requires higher functions of the brain. Learning to play the piano for instance improves coordination, concentration, reading and math. Research has been proving this for years!

At Music Makers for Life the focus is on learning to read and play or sing music for the individual child. The goal is not to create the next Mozart or Beethoven
(We don't expect every child who learns to read and write to become the next Hemingway).
We want your little musician to be confident and enjoy the musical experience. Kids love their piano lessons, guitar lessons and voice lessons because we make it fun!

ABOUT Us: As with any skill worth learning, a certain amount of "work" is involved. Most people use the word "practice" when the skill required involves a musical instrument (including the Voice). Those that perceive this "practice" time as being enjoyable learn at a much faster pace than students that perceive it as "work". It is with this in mind that we keep piano lessons, guitar lessons, and voice lessons as enjoyable as possible, while still maintaining a serious attitude about the music.MUSIC MONEY AND PARTIES!
For Private guitar lessons and piano lesson Students: When a student plays their piano lesson or guitar lesson assignment with perfection, they receive a music dollar. When possible (at least once a year) a music party is held which involves playing a piece in front of their peers (thus receiving five more music dollars!), playing informative music games, and purchasing their choice of items. The items range from music socks, music shirts, music pens, music pencils, music tote bags, CD's, picks, tuners.....well, you get the idea!

In the class setting, the students play games to reinforce material learned. They earn music money during many of these games! They are able to spend the money during class sessions. MUSIC RECITAL
Twice a year a formal recital is held at a nearby church in Crystal Lake, Illinois for private students. It includes all students. All friends and family members are welcome to attend.
We now also produce a full Christmas Show incorporating all the talent of our students and teacher

Class Piano lessons, Guitar Lessons, and Voice Lessons are a stimulating and fun way for children to learn to read music and play an instrument!

PARENTS IN CARY DISTRICT 26:
As a Certified General Music Teacher for many years (K-8), it saddens me to see your music program disappear. Unfortunately, this will probably happen more and more in our state.
For this reason, we are offering a 10% discount for class piano and group guitar over the next year for students in a district that does not have professional music teachers teaching the children. (Proof of attendance in that district must be presented at registration).

The reason our group rates are such a deal:We want to encourage parents to put their kids in the small groups because we've seen the highly successful results first-hand! After years of experience at teaching private lessons and this method of group lessons, we've found that this group method inspires and motivates the kids to not only come to class, but to practice. Why? Because we make it fun for them and because they learn to read music as quickly as we can get them to....so they can enjoy playing real songs. They learn to stay together through counting and actually listening while they play. In addition they form new relationships with others that have the same interest: music. They are also motivated to practice because they don't want to fall behind the others, especially when we're working on a group song.Because we are so inspired by the results of our method, our group rates are only $20.00 per each 45 minute class. We also offer discounts for families: if at least one family member is in a class and there are 2 family members taking lessons at our studio there is a 5% discount for both. If at least one family member is in a class and there are 3 or more family members taking lessons at our studio there is a 10% discount for all. Sometimes forming a class can take patience (especially in the "off" season). But we are committed to working hard to put together a quality class of similar ages and levels. We work with parents to try to meet the needs of your schedule and match it to other potential students who are also waiting to start a class. Give us a call for more information about forming a class: 815-444-9444. Ask for Mrs. Villec.
