FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE PERMANENTLY INCREASED TO $250,000.00
As of Oct 3, 2008 the standard maximum insurance amount of $100,000.00 had been temporarily raised to $250,000.00 and was to be effective thru Dec 31, 2013. As of July 21, 2010, this temporary raise to $250,000.00 has become effective permanently.
FDIC TRANSACTION ACCOUNT GUARANTEE PROGRAM (TAG PROGRAM)
Effective Jan 1, 2010, Community Bank will no longer be a participant in the TAG Program. Thus any funds held in a non-interest bearing account will no longer be guaranteed in full thru the TAG Program, but will still be insured up to $250,000.00 per depositor under the FDICs general deposit insurance rules.
