Lucky Pets has been owned and operated by Lisa
Spakowski since 1998. Four years after Lisa had
adopted her beloved dog, Nasa, she began competing
in Dog Agility. Now she competes on a regular basis
with her current 3 dogs,Westleigh, Thelmalou and
Buckwheat, and is also an Amateur trainer with
Lucky Canine Agility.
Lisa states, “ Dog Agility has taught me how to use
positive training techniques- food, praise and fun. Dog
Agility has also taught me humility and how to laugh
and really enjoy my dogs.”
After the adoption of her Pointer, Wes, in 1998, she learned about the wonderful world of Birddogs and Field Training. This passion also helped her to create Illinois Birddog Rescue, Inc., which is a Pointer and Setter Adoption Foundation in the Chicagoland area. “ I really feel that trying to re-educate the public and hunting community about the plight of homeless Pointers and Setters is my life’s mission. These dogs make wonderful loyal family pets and companions.”
Lisa is also a distributor for Flint River Ranch Premium Pet food. Human grade
ingredients, no by-products and no preservatives.

Lucky Pets offers Daily Dog Walking for those folks who have to work long hours and want to give their K9 companions a break during the day. The daily visit could also include training for puppies and playing fetch in the safety of their own yard.
Lucky Pets also offers Vacation Pet Sitting for those pets who would be much happier staying at home while their owners are away. There are many benefits to having your pet stay at home. Many dogs and cats do not adjust well to the kennel environment, may not eat and
may suffer from anxiety. A kennel environment can also subject your pets
to germs and viruses that can be harmful to your pets.
A minimum of 3 visits a day are required for the dogs whose
family members are on vacation. Cats usually do well with one
visit a day, which includes litter box duty. Aviaries also do well
with one visit a day. Mail and papers can also be brought in.

Puppy Pet Sitting includes positive training using food, toy and praise rewards. The daily visits also include leash training with walks around the neighborhood that will be stimulating and help the puppies build confidence. Safe socialization with dogs in the neighborhood will also be encouraged.
