Dr. Sonia Gutierrez established Kids Dentist in September of 1994, and is known as "Dr. Sonia" to all of her young patients.
Kids Dentist’s philosophy stresses early preventive care. Dr. Sonia explains, "There is simply no reason to have bad teeth anymore because there are so many ways to prevent cavities. Proper brushing, sealants, and nutritious diets can all prevent future problems. Good dental habits are established early in life, and in part, they will determine the oral health of an individual," states Dr. Sonia.
Kids Dentist utilizes a "Tell-Show-Do" technique which involves telling the child what will be done, showing it to them (on the hand for example), and then actually performing the treatment. Dr. Sonia & her associates concur with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry when they state that children should first visit the dentist by the time they reach the age 1.
