Animal Protective Association’s HARMONY HOUSE FOR CATS is a cageless no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing and placing injured and abandoned cats.
Each cat and kitten receives the expert veterinary care and one-on-one attention needed to be adopted into a loving home—but until then, they are safe at Harmony House.
June 5 marked an important milestone for Harmony House: 40 years of cat and kitten rescues, 40 years of caring staff, volunteers, adopters, sponsors, and supporters who have touched the lives of thousands of needy cats. We are grateful for any donation you can afford, and it will be put to immediate use for food, cat litter, veterinary care, cleaning supplies and utility bills.

Founded in 1970, Harmony House is Chicago's second oldest no-kill animal shelter...
...and also the second humane organization to open a cageless adoption center for cats and kittens in Chicago. We receive no city, county, state, or federal funding, and rely entirely upon contributions from caring animal lovers like you to provide for the cats.
Harmony House is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, and every donation is tax-deductible.
Please use our P.O. Box for all donations and correspondence.
Please review the adoption hours and requirements on our Adoption page so that you can take home your new cat or kitten the same day.
E-mail may require 8-36 hours to reach the correct person and be answered. If you have an urgent concern, please call the shelter.
