"I can't say enough good things about Transcription Professionals. Writing books is hard enough without worrying about transcripts, quality and the many other things that can go wrong. They were fast, accurate and returned the tapes in great shape and promptly. They have become my default partners in any transcribing I need in the future."-- Charles Madigan, author, Evanston (IL).
“My company was engaged to manage a retail study involving interviews with top executives around the world. We knew we needed a high quality, intelligent transcription service to meet our deadlines, work with business language, and be flexible enough to work with thick [British] accents in some of the interviews. After talking with several transcription companies, I selected Transcription Professionals based on their affordability and excellent references. It's the best decision I made on this project! I was delighted that all our work went to one transcriptionist--Sidney--who became a very valuable member of our project team. Not only did Sidney meet all our deadlines, but she also did an excellent job of learning our subject matter, accurately transcribing all of our interviews, and was always friendly and easy to work with. I am pleased to be a reference for Sidney and Transcription Professionals and would be glad to speak with anyone regarding my excellent experience with the company.” — Jane Fitzjerrell, Consultant, McMillan Doolittle LLP, Chicago
“I have used Transcription Professionals for several of my research projects. My interactions with Paula and her transcription staff have always been professional and expedient. The transcriptions of my interviews and focus groups were thorough, accurate, and perfectly formatted. The turn around time has been short (just a few days), and I believe the prices are very reasonable. Working with this company has been of immense help to me in my qualitative research.” —Demetra John, University of Illinois, Chicago
“Transcription Professionals did an outstanding job transcribing interviews for our documentary film 'Refrigerator Mothers.' Gina Cook transcribed with great accuracy what were often lengthy and intellectually complex interviews with multiple speakers. Turnaround time on the transcripts was fast and the work was done at a very reasonable cost. The transcripts were invaluable in the editing room! I would recommend Transcription Professionals anytime for the high quality of their work and the very professional attitude of the transcriptionists.”—J.J. Hanley, Producer of “Refrigerator Mothers” documentary for PBS's POV series, Kartemquin Education Films, Chicago
"Transcription Professionals did a fantastic job! The transcripts were incredibly accurate, and the turn-around time exactly as promised. Both the management and staff were extremely professional and courteous, and responded quickly to any questions I had during the project. In addition, the cost was very reasonable-- the best price I could find for both the quality and speed. I highly recommend Transcription Professionals to others, and I will certainly use them again in the future! "—Tara Shochet, MPH School of Public Health, University of Michigan
To many, "intelligent transcription" may sound a bit like an oxymoron. Most people regard transcription as labor-intensive work for clerks who are skilled only in typing.
Unfortunately, this is often the case. Far too many transcription services produce documents that are riddled with grammatical mistakes, punctuation errors, and inaccuracies.
Transcription Professionals, however, is a different breed of transcription company, doing the job correctly the first time. Since our founding in 1995, we have earned a reputation as "the intelligent transcription service" for our ability to take on difficult recordings on all topics and produce top-quality results. That is whether we are transcribing interviews, personal dictation, meetings, focus groups, training sessions, panel discussions, symposia, lectures, podcasts, book-author research, webinars, or many other formats.
We are proud of repeat business from clients from across the country, including market-research and production companies, as well as non-profits and academics. Regular clients who have used our services for many years are the Chicago History Museum, the American Hospital Association, and Kartemquin Films (makers of the documentary "Hoop Dreams"). Some of our largest and most enduring clients have been universities, including the University of Illinois at Chicago, DePaul University, and Northwestern University. We also recently have done work for Baruch College in New York City and Princeton University.
My staff consists of well-educated, intelligent professionals and graduate students, many of whom have degrees in English or experience in other writing fields. And they are dedicated and trustworthy; most have worked for me for at least five years.
Plus, our rates are reasonable, straight-forward, transparent, and competitive, offering high-volume and student discounts on request. We also provide free uploading of digital sound files, and we have a large staff to ensure quick service for large orders. We accept a variety of recording formats (still including microcassettes and standard-sized cassette tapes).
