The job opportunities for trained dental assistants is quite good in today’s marketplace. An examination of the classified ads in the newspaper shows that the demand for dental assistants is quite strong, but the majority of these ads require experienced applicants.

Following your training in this ten week course, you will have the confidence and skills necessary to apply for these positions. Along with your diploma and hands-on experience, a letter of recommendation and a summary of your training experience will give you the edge you need to land one of these positions.

The starting pay for a trained assistant is greater than someone not trained because you are able to perform from day one. You will know what procedures are, the materials and equipment needed and how to be helpful from the beginning of your job. Assistant pay varies but generally starts in the $10-12 range and goes as high as $20-22 with experience.
