The churches of Christ today are modeled after the original church established by Jesus Christ and the apostles. Before Jesus died on a Roman cross, he taught his disciples how God wanted them to live their lives. He taught them how the law was fulfilled through him. He taught them how to please God. This includes how to worship him without compromising the gospel. Jesus was the perfect example of how to resist sin and live our lives. Through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection we understand that the church was first established in Acts chapter 2.
The church of Christ continues to make every effort to worship God in accordance with Gods will as recorded by his word in the first century. We believe that God is very pleased with those who hold closely to his word. Jesus wanted his church to be loving and sincere in their worship, and he also said we must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24). He wants us to be caring and compassionate towards one another. He calls for us to have purity of heart. We believe that when you visit the church of Christ, you will see the pure and simple church that he promised to build (Matthew 16:18).
