Important information about our commitment to children's health and vision.
High-quality eye care from an early age is important to assure proper visual development.
The American Optometric Association recommends that infants receive an eye examination by six months of age, and every two years thereafter.
Contact Wearers Need Annual Exams
If you wear contact lenses, say doctors at the Mayo Clinic, its important to get an annual eye exam.
Even if you're experiencing no obvious symptoms, contact lenses could be damaging your eyes. Prolonged wear can stress, warp or even scar your eyes. Contacts can also encourage alergic reactions and bacterial or fungal infections. Any of these can seriously and permanently damage your vision.
So, even if your lenses seem confortable, make sure you see Dr. Bechtold, Dr. Najem, Dr. Gifford or your opthalmologist once a year!
