While I was walking the puppy a few evenings ago, I felt something that I hadnt encountered in awhile - the need for a light sweater!
As much as I enjoy summer and its lazy, carefree attitude, I always find myself craving fall. And of course when a knitter dreams of fall, they next dream of whats new in knit.
This season seems to indicate that theres something for everyone. From the lace weight cardigans to the lace tee done in a chunky weight yarn, you are bound to be on the cutting edge of the latest trends! Speaking of projects, be sure to check out our upcoming fall class schedule which incorporates skills for many of these exciting projects.
And whats a new project without new yarn? Weve got it coming if we dont have it already. Our current favorite (across the board by the way) ... Malabrigo Rios! A superwash version of a longtime favorite? You cant go wrong. Its shaping up to be a great season.

As we told you a few months ago, we are continuing to knit for Sarah's Inn, our local organization that offers assistance to battered and abused women. They provide a safe place for women who are experiencing domestic violence. We are proud to be able to help them in supplying them with any hand knit items for baby, children's and adults sizes. Chix will be offering a 20% discount for any Sarah's inn project. If you don't want to knit an entire project - also consider knitting a 8x8 square that will be later assembled into a blanket. What a great way to get your teen or girl scout troup involved. Check for details with Kelly at Chix regarding the square requirements. We will still have charity knitting time at chix on Thursdays. Come on it and sit and knit. When knitters open their hearts, I don't know that there's much we can't accomplish!
