Distinctive Interiors was founded by Wayland Sims in1975 when he began his interior design business from his home in Marion, Illinois. Now, in addition to interior design services, Distinctive Interiors offers a 27,000 square foot showroom of the finest quality furniture, accessories, and gifts, and is still located in Southern Illinois, just east of Illinois Centre Mall in Marion.

Distinctive Interiors even offers electric fireplaces from Symphony and Dimplex.
