St. James strives to create an environment that fosters the love of Jesus. Our Children then share that love with other members of the community. We are members of the Body of Christ and participating in the sacraments enriches our children's faith journey. It is important that our children experience being a part of a Christian-rich school environment. We demonstrate our faith and commitment in many ways throughout our school year.
Founded in 1851, St. James Catholic Church is a growing, dynamic parish family that cherishes the pride and tradition of our Millstadt community. To meet the growing needs of the Christian community, the parish formed St. James Catholic Grade school in 1941 and the Early Childhood Center in 2000. It is through the dedicated spiritual and financial support of our parish family that our school can fulfill its mission and serve our children. Through families actively participating in our annual parish celebrations and fund raisers, the children learn the importance of service, hard work and gratitude for those who support us.
At St. James we recognize the enormous potential of every child. We strive to help our students develop their gifts and talents to their utmost capacity, while challenging them academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Our students' successes are reflected in their achievement test scores. Compared with other schools across the nation, our school consistently scores well above the norm. Equipped with outstanding academic skills, our students successfully embrace the challenges of secondary and higher education. St. James graduates consistently perform in the top ranks of their classes when they move on to high school and beyond.
