About Our Club
The Alton-Wood River Sportsmen's Club has been serving its members since 1949. We are a private club providing recreation and socialization for the members and the public. We are a non-profit organization yet keep low prices for our membership.
We provide a clean comfortable facility where members, family and guests may affordably engage in activities in a wholesome environment which encourages social activities and friendly competition. We give families equal opportunities to gain personal skills through participation in fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.
We strive to encourage the conservation of our fish and game resources and the forests that support them; to improve the hunting and fishing conditions in this area; to participate in civic affairs pertaining to conservation; to support and assist in the environmental laws; and to promote good fellowship and good sportsmanship among all.
All club members hold much value in our 80 beautiful acres of woodlands and lake area in natural green space in Godfrey; as well as 900 acres of land at the Pleasant Hill facility which we protect.
Our club is partners with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
