Six All-Day Workshops Sponsored by the IPA

The Illinois Psychological Association is sponsoring a series of six workshops in 2011. These workshops will provide training for psychologists and mental health professionals wishing to develop competency in the treatment of couples.

The workshops will be offered on the second Friday of each month except January and March: 1/7, 2/11, 3/04, 4/8, 5/13, 6/10.

Attendees may attend any number of the workshops. Those attending the entire series will be awarded a certificate of completion and 36 continuing education credits

Work, the economy and money are the most often reported significant causes of stress for residents of Chicago, and four in 10 adults report that their stress levels increased in the past year, according to a survey released today by the American Psychological Association (APA) and conducted online by Harris Interactive in August 2010. While half of residents say they are doing enough to manage their stress, more are reporting diagnoses of health problems, many of which are often linked to chronic stress.

As a service to consumers and our members, IPA offers advertising for office space, professional products and services on our web site.

With increasing pressure from all fronts attempting to lower the quality of mental health services and reduce funding for research, it is now more important than ever before that we remain organized.
