In the Beginning
Back in 1971, LAMCO opened its doors as a distributor of synthetic web slings. Over the years, we've expanded our product offerings to include hundreds of unique lifting devices from the most respected names in the lifting industry, including Columbus McKinnon (CM) and Crosby and WireCo wire rope.
On to Manufacturing
In 1975 LAMCO increased its capabilities by moving into the manufacture of its own slings. We started with alloy chain and, shortly thereafter, added wire rope and synthetic web slings. Before the end of the 1970s, LAMCO grew to manufacture other ergonomic devices for the lifting industry.
Now, as one of the Midwest's premier, full-service lifting service centers, LAMCO distributes and manufactures a diverse line of high-end lifting devices. Plus our highly trained outside representatives provide consulting and design services throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois. With more than 100 years of combined lifting experience to draw upon within the LAMCO organization, our reps are prepared to solve problems, create solutions and offer sound advice.

LAMCO is an active member in the world's two primary sling-manufacturing associations:
• Associated Wire Rope Fabricators (AWRF)
• Web Sling Tie Down Association (WSTDA)
Both of these associations promote safe use and manufacturing of slings used in lifting.
LAMCO CEO Bill Lambrecht is a past officer of WSTDA. During his term, he produced a safety video for web slings, now available from WSTDA members throughout the world.
