Welcome to Sugar Creek United Methodist Church !!!
This is the day which the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!!! (Psalms 118:24, RSV)

Sugar Creek exists to reach the unchurched in our community with God's love and to develop devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sugar Creek Church is conveniently located in the rapidly growing community of Chatham, IL, just a few miles south of Springfield. Nearby communities include; Glenarm, New City, Auburn, Divernon, Pawnee, Rochester and Springfield.

Listen to Pastor Wes, "Not Just a "Warm Fuzzy" King" (8:15am service)

As a family-centered church, we welcome children in our worship service. For your child’s comfort and your convenience, we also offer a full service nursery in our Christian Education wing and a parent’s room at the back of our worship center. Please see one of our ushers or greeters if you have questions or need directions.

Tuesday morning prayer - We believe that prayer is one of the main foundations of Sugar Creek. Each Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. a group of people meet in the Worship Center to pray for the needs of individuals, our church, our community, our nation and our world. We invite anyone who would like to join with us as we pray.
If there is a loved one, a situation, a joy, or a concern that you would like to lift up in prayer, please contact us and we will activate our email prayer chain. You can also let us know on the connection card located in the Sunday bulletins. All prayer concerns are kept confidential unless you request otherwise.
Please join us on Tuesday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m. for our combined Thanksgiving Service with Chatham UMC. Pastor Sara Isbell will deliver the message. Please remember to invite family and friends to this special service!

Remember those who defend our freedom. As military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan continue, it’s easy for those of us without immediate family members in the military to slip into compassion fatigue. While it’s true that many of our military personnel have rotated back to the US, for which we are deeply grateful, it’s also true that a number of other servicemen and servicewomen have been rotated back to Iraq and others are scheduled to returned there within the next month or so. Please pick up an updated military prayer list and continue to pray for these brave men and women and their families. If you have a service person in your family, please help us keep our list accurate and continue to supply us with copies of pictures, email, letters, etc. so that we can keep them in our hearts and minds and lift their name (and yours) to God.
