Summer is almost here! Manolo’s Pizza & Empanadas is getting ready for our summer events: first up on the list is the 40th Annual Taste of Champaign-Urbana held from Friday, June 11th to Sunday, June 13th!
This will be the second year that Manolo’s attends the Taste, and we’re hoping to share our delicious empanadas with many more members of the community. Also, we’re happy to announce that this year we will be serving pizza by the slice! Naturally, we’ll have cheese, sausage, and pepperoni for the kids, but mom and dad can sample our delicious gourmet specialty pizzas including our new Spotted Goat pizza (made with mushrooms, spinach, roasted garlic cream sauce, and fresh goat cheese), or our BBQ Chicken with caramelized onions and delicious, tangy bbq sauce.
But Taste isn’t just about the food (though that’s a big part of it)! While you wander around the park and sample the many culinary delights from local restaurants, make sure to take in some music and entertainment! Don’t miss Delta Kings, Elsinore, and Angie Heaton and the Gentle Tamers among others.

It’s that time of year again for the annual Boneyard Arts Festival. Running from Thursday April 15th-18th, artists from all over will be showcasing their talents throughout the Champaign-Urbana area. Be sure to mark the dates and check out this year’s lineup. Campus day is Friday so come enjoy the art and while you’re out pick up a slice at Manolo’s!

This year we are partnering with Relay For Life donating pizza for all the participants. “The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.”
In addition to providing food at this year’s event, we are also collecting in-store donations. Simply stop by Manolo’s for an afternoon treat and donate a buck or two toward Relay For Life. It’s a really great cause!

The Graduate Student Housing Kids Club was visited by the Manolo’s team at the beginning of the semester! Our team taught the kids about the Spanish language, the difference between ftbol and ftbol americano, and of course served up some empanadas! The kids played “ftbol boliche” (soccer bowling) and made empanada maracas to take home.
