We Are a Welcoming and Affirming Congregation
In early 1997 Prince of Peace became a "Welcoming and Affirming Congregation" when it adopted the following statement of welcome:
"That persons of all races, ages, physical, mental and emotional status or capacity, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, economic condition, national and ethnic origins, share with all others the worth which comes from being unique individuals created by God in need of forgiveness."
"That all persons named and unnamed above are welcome within the membership of the congregation upon making the same affirmation of faith that all others make; and, that as members of this congregation all are expected and encouraged to share in the sacramental and general life of this congregation."

Prince of Peace is located in Schaumburg, Illinois, approximately 30 minutes west of downtown Chicago and has been serving the community for over 50 years. We are a member of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.All are welcome at Prince of Peace.
