Giants Travel Football Practice is on as scheduled.
The website and weather hotline are updated by 4:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am on weekends.
Any sight of lightning and/or sound of thunder in the area of the ballfields results in immediate suspension of a game or practice. Players and spectators are requested to take cover in cars or park shelters. After a 30-minute waiting period, umpires make the decision to cancel or resume play.
Decisions on weekend games are made by 8:00 a.m. If conditions should change after those times, a final decision is made by Park District staff at the field. NOTE: If rain should occur at game time, the umpire gives a verbal decision at the field on whether or not the game is played.
The Athletics Weather Hotline is 847.579.4015 and is updated after 4 p.m. during the weekday and 8 a.m. on the weekend. If you have questions about a program/facility please contact that facility directly.
