Our services combine uplifting music with thought-provoking scripture readings and sermons
that touch on issues you face in your everyday life. Outside of the service, further develop your faith by joining our bible study group or Lay Education. Actively engage your children in learning and developing Christian values by enrolling them in Sunday School.

PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter). Kairos. Community Crisis Center. CROP walk. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Elgin soup kitchen. Lost Boys – Sudan Mission. Tutoring
to Lowrie School. Our missions extends from Elgin to half-way around the world. Whether
you are concerned about homelessness, hunger, or domestic violence, First Presbyterian offers
a way to get involved and make a difference!

For over 100 years, First Presbyterian has been an extended family to many. It's the kind of place “where everybody knows your name.” Pancake breakfasts, an active choir, a hard-working softball team, as well as a number of other organizations and events, all help foster a deep sense of community and make First Pres a second home.
