P.I.N.S. Therapy
P.I.N.S. stands for percutaneous iontophoretic needle stimulation. It has been linked to prolotherapy because it attempts to capitalize on the body's own regenerative processes by way of repeated, low-grade irritation, but differs from traditional prolotherapy in that no substance is "injected". Rather, a substance is "infused" into the target tissue thru a solid acupuncture needle by way of a (covalent) chemical bond between the substance on the needle and a direct current (iontophoresis).
