VIGIL FOR LIFE
Pope Benedict XVI has invited Catholics around the globe to gather in prayer vigils for nascent life on the evening of November 27. As we begin the season of Advent, we are mindful that our Lord Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and that the Blessed Virgin Mary carried Jesus in her womb for nine months until his birth. During the vigil, we pray for a renewed respect for all human life, especially the lives of children in the womb who are waiting to be born.
ST. MARYS ANNIVERSARY
On the cover of this week's bulletin you can see a photo from 1925 that shows our parish church (without the front porch), rectory and school building. All three buildings were constructed between 1910 and 1917 thanks to the generosity of the people of St. Marys.
Please plan on joining us for the Mass offered by Francis Cardinal George, on Sunday, December 5 at 10:30am. Together we thank the Holy Trinity for all of the blessings of the past 100 years in our church. Due to the reception after Mass, there will not be a Noon Mass on that Sunday.
I always enjoy Thanksgiving Day at St. Marys. Celebrating the Eucharist with hundreds of people seems to be the most fitting way to start the day. There is so much to be grateful to God for, beginning with the gifts of life and faith. Please join us for Mass at 9:00am this Thursday, November 25. For those who will be away, my prayers for safe travels and a blessed day.
The Guild of St. Mary Prelude will be held on Friday, December 3 at the Marriott Lincolnshire. Whether you connect with friends or make new acquaintances, this is an enjoyable event for all who attend. Please see the details here and join us at the Prelude.
