A Peaceful, Relaxing Getaway
Conveniently located 4 minutes directly South of Starved Rock State Park on Route 178, the Inn is nestled on 14 acres within the confines of Matthiessen State Park. Newly constructed in 1996, the Brightwood Inn was built to resemble a vintage farmhouse complete with verandah and rocking chairs. The Inn will provide you with a peaceful and luxurious stay amid the beauty of nature. There are many outside activities in the area such as hiking the state park trails, canoeing on the Fox river, horseback riding, sky diving, bicycling the I&M Canal towpath, white water rafting on the Vermillion river, shopping in nearby Utica and golfing. Like a Bed & Breakfast, a full, complimentary breakfast comes with your room. Celebrate your honeymoon, anniversary or birthday in our Romantic Country Inn. All rooms feature beautiful accomodations plus satellite FLAT SCREEN TV, DVD, seasonal fireplace and private bath. Six rooms have large, two-person hot tub jacuzzis and three have private balconies. Fine dining for inn guests and anyone outside who would like to make a reservation are welcome. Dining is available Monday through Thursday in our dining room. The meals feature fresh, organic herbs and vegetables from our garden when in season. Please check our dining page for menu. The Inn is perfect for small weddings, rehearsal dinners, banquets, receptions, showers, and family or class reunions. Free wi-fi is available throughout the Inn. The kitchen will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, November 24 & 25th and December 6th thru December 9th. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Note: The Brightwood Inn purchases a full Liquor License from the State of Illinois and The County Of La Salle each year. We also purchase Liquor Liability Insurance and carry a stocked bar. Therefore, we ask you kindly and with great respect to refrain from bringing your own alcohol into our gathering room and dining room. You are welcome to enjoy your own alcohol in your room, the library, and on the porch. We thank you for your cooperation.
