SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY!:Our Awana clubs have been doing a terrific job of gathering much needed items for refugees in Pakistan. You may well have seen the growing mountain of goods in the Elim building. Well, those items NOW need to be packed and ready to ship. IF WE CAN GET MANY HANDS IT WILL MAKE LIGHT WORK following the worship service on Sunday. PLEASE consider giving a few minutes to help folks on the other side of the world!

Friday Night’s Chili Cook-off was a roaring success! Here’s a shot of one of our winners:
10:30 am This week we’ll take a brief detour in our study of the second half of the book of Acts as we celebrate the Lord’s Table together. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself (1 Corinthians 11:28-29).
10:30 am We resume our study in the last half of the books of Acts. Read Acts 14 to prepare.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Serving Sisters Luncheon originally scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd, has been postponed. A future date will be announced later.
This Week @ Elim: 2-week Edition: 10-10 thru 10-23-2010
10:30 am As we share the joy of seeing others follow the Lord in believer’s baptism, we’ll learn from the Word about the unity of the body from Psalm 133. Prepare your heart and mind by reading this great psalm beforehand.

10:30 am As the pastor ministers to the body of Christ at First Baptist Church in Freeport, IL, this morning, we’ll be blessed to hear the Word of God proclaimed by an elder. Please be in prayer for him as he prepares, and pray for the congregation to worship the Living Lord in His truth and grace. Also, prepare your heart and mind for the fellowship of the saints in Communion.
10:30 am We resume our study in Acts 13-28 titled “The Church Around the World.” Ask the Lord to prepare your heart to hear and respond to the Word of truth. Currently, we are in Acts 14:1-7.
