We will be celebrating Black Friday by being closed, but the store opens again on Saturday at noon. We have lots of things for you, the knitter/crocheter and those knitters and crocheters who are near and dear.
We are starting new classes in December. Beginning Knitting starts on December 13th and will meet for 4 sessions, the 20th, 27th and January 3rd. The cost is $125 for all supplies and handouts.
Our Project Classes for December are designed for those of you who would like to learn a special technique. You may take all four of the classes offered for $90 or you can take them individually for $25 each. Our first class, December 7th, is all about knitting in the round. This is the technique you need for making hats, mittens, socks or even a sweater without seams! Learn to use double pointed needles and circular needles, how to join your work and understand the structure of your knitting.
The second class, on December 14th, teaches you to make those beautiful, seemingly difficult cables. You'll be amazed how easy it can be once you have the right tools and know how to read the pattern.
Class three on December 21st, will teach you to fix mistakes. It's empowering to be able to "read" your stitches and move beyond that daunting problem. Learn to fix a dropped stitch, an incorrect stitch and how to read a knitting pattern and if time allows a chart.
The fourth class on December 27th is on increases and decreases. This is the little detail that makes your knits look "hand made" rather than "home made". It's how you add shaping to your knits like hats, mitts, socks and sweaters.
Sock Class begins again on January 10th and Beginning Knitting on January 4th.
Knit 1 will close at 3PM on Christmas Eve and we'll reopen on the 26th at noon. And we'll close at 3PM on New Year's Eve as well, but join us for a Beat the Blahs Open House on New Years Day from 12 - 5. Stay tuned!
